Adult Study Groups @ South Shore

Life is best lived in community. Small groups are an opportunity to gather and guide one another through all the intersections of faith and the real world.

At South Shore UMC we provide a small group experience for every age, and have as a goal that everyone connected to our congregation be growing in a small group experience.

  • Fore more information about small group offerings for youth (grades 6 through 12), click here

Some of our small groups are short-term while others are ongoing. In attentiveness to the Spirit we will further diversify our small group offerings. Descriptions of our present small groups are below. Connect and grow with us at South Shore!

Sunday Morning Small Group

The Third Day by Bishop Tom Berlin

Beginning Sunday, March 9 @ 10:40hr in Rm 116

This Sunday Morning Small Group will explore the experiences of several individuals around Jesus in his final days, focusing on new life and redemption rather than loss.

Using Bishop Tom Berlin's book and DVD sessions, we will join Peter, Mary Magdalene, and Thomas as they feel the despair of losing Jesus and the surprise and joy that awaits them in the resurrection. This study traces events around these characters, along with Paul and the disciples at Emmaus, and how the resurrection transforms their lives.

This class will include video and discussion components. Participants are encouraged to obtain a personal copy of Bishop Berlin's book for this study.

Get outside your comfort zone where real change happens. We are on a journey from a sedentary lifestyle to one filled with endless possibilities. We are headed down a rich spiritual path as well, developing a deeper relationship with the One who makes the impossible, possible. The One who can take you from where you are to places you have never been!! This is South Shore Run Club!!

Remember if you are running the heat to hydrate, wear sunscreen, and be safe!

We run and work up to running through 12-week training sessions in the Fall and Winter/Spring; our Fall Session will be announced soon. In anticipation of our Fall Session, members of the South Shore Run Club meet weekly for encouragement in our faith and fitness. Connect with us to learn about and join our weekly meet-ups!

Invite your friends to join you on this amazing journey filled with faith, fitness and friendships!! You don't need to be a member or attendee of South Shore UMC or any other church for that matter. You don't need to be a runner, yet. Folks of all fitness levels are invited. This is a "free and open" run club and we can't wait to spend this time with you!!

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. ~ (Hebrews 12:1)
