Connie Bishop, Coordinator, Backpacks on a Mission at South Shore United Methodist Church recently received a grant of $3000.00 from JR League of Tampa. We sincerely thank the JR League of Tampa for their support and award for the students at risk of food insecurity at seven of our local elementary schools. This funding will go towards easy-to-prepare nutritious food for the students in this ministry.

December 2025

 

Connie Bishop, Coordinator of Backpacks on a Mission Literacy Program at South Shore United Methodist Church, along with Bethany Hill-Anderson, Co-coordinator, received a $ 25,000 grant from the Thomas A. Plein Foundation. The grant focuses on providing books to underprivileged students who are in the Backpacks on a Mission program at seven local elementary schools in southern Hillsborough County.

We want to thank the Thomas A. Plein Foundation for awarding this grant. We look forward to providing books to those students in our Backpacks on a Mission program.
