     At South Shore UMC we love to see people encounter the transformational love of Jesus claim and be proclaimed in a person's life through the Sacrament of Baptism.

We offer

Early Childhood Baptism

(of someone that cannot answer the baptismal vows for themselves) and Confessional Baptism

(of someone that can answer the baptismal vows for themselves).

by sprinkling/pouring or full immersion. 

​

     Young Children are baptized by sprinkling or pouring water on their head, while older children and adults may choose either mode of Baptism.

 

     We celebrate baptisms as part of our weekly worship services.

 

     Pastor Sarah offers quarterly Baptism Information Sessions during the 8:30am hour and/or by appointment. To receive more information about baptism or to schedule a baptism, please click here.

     The United Methodist Church recognizes and accepts baptisms from Christian traditions that baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We celebrate annually the reaffirmation of our baptisms and welcome folks that have not been baptized to anticipate their baptism during that rite.
