ALL SAINTS CELEBRATION TODAY 

South Shore UMC Family recognizes persons that have entered the Church Triumphant in the last year through a special time of naming the saints, prayer, candle lighting, and song.  

Our celebration joins with all the saints in heaven as we proclaim our faith in the gift of resurrection.  

 

FIRST SUNDAY REPLENISH RESTORE 

Please bring donations and place them in the shopping cart in the Welcome Center.  

Your donations support our partnership with Restore Food Pantry at Riverview First UMC and bring relief to hunger experienced by the most vulnerable in our community. 

 

RESTORE THANKSGIVING BAGS AVAILABLE TODAY 

Our externally focused in service goal is 125 completed bags to help fill empty tables and lift weary spirits this Thanksgiving. Bags are available for pick up in the Worship Center this Sunday! Please return completed bags by November 15.  

 

UWiF INVITE YOU TO LUNCH AND LEARN NOVEMBER 8 FOLLOWING WORSHIP 

Please join us following service to continue our education in equality justice and its relationship to anti-racism and cross-cultural education. Lunch provided by the UM Men’s Group. Donations accepted; 100% of donations will go toward further education and programs promoting equality justice initiatives.

PHOTO REQUEST: VETERAN’S DAY SLIDESHOW 

South Shore will celebrate Veteran’s Day

Sunday on November 8.  

We welcome veterans and their families to share photos with the Church Office to include in our Veteran’s Day Slideshow.  

Please send scanned photos to office@southshoreumc.com or bring photos to be scanned during Weekday Office Hours by this Wednesday, November 4.

If you submitted photos in previous years, you do not need to resubmit photos for the slide show.  

We look forward to honoring the service of all our veterans in worship this Sunday.

CASTING CALL FOR CHILDREN’S NATIVITY 

Shore Kids will lead us in portraying a Children’s Nativity in worship on Sunday, December 13. Shore Kiddos, we will have speaking and non-speaking parts and would love your help singing Christmas Carols. Connect with Sarah Nicole Van Nevel or Stormy Hodel after worship November 8 or 15 to participate! 

 

COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8 @ 8:30AM

SERVICE OF HOPE AND REMEMBRANCE | FRIENDSGIVING | DECK SOUTH SHORE’S HALLS 

Sunday, November 22 @ 5:30pm

with Dinner and Decorating to follow 

Join with our church family for a time of hope and remembrance. This acoustic worship service will feature Scripture reading, community prayers, and candlelight. Together we will name the hardships of life and claim the hope that is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord. At the conclusion of the service, we will enjoy our third annual Friendsgiving Meal and decorate our campus for Christmas. RSVP with the dish you will prepare to share in the Welcome Center.  

 

UPCOMING ADVENT SMALL GROUP STUDIES 

South Shore UMC will offer several opportunities  

for persons to gather in small group Bible Study in preparation for the Advent and Christmas Seasons.  

 

Beginning Sunday, November 8 @ 10:40hr, join Rebecca Crotwell and friends in Rm 115/116 to study Rev. Adam Hamilton’s The Journey to Bethlehem. Participants are encouraged to purchase a personal copy of the book for this study.  

 

Beginning Tuesday, November 17 @ 7pm via Zoom and Wednesday, November 18 @ Noon in Rm 106/via Zoom, join Pastor Sarah and friends to dive deeper into knowledge on the gift of the first advent, or arrival, of God in Jesus of Nazareth. Each gathering will explore resources on the four themes of the Advent Season: hope, peace, joy, and love.
