PRAYER FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY

Almighty God, you rule all the peoples of the earth. Inspire the minds of all people to whom you have committed the responsibility of government and leadership in the nations of the world. Give to them the vision of truth and justice, that by their counsel all nations and peoples may work together. Give to the people of our country zeal for justice and strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance with your gracious will. Forgive our shortcomings as a nation;

purify our hearts to see and love the truth. We pray all these

things through Jesus Christ. Amen.

FIRST SUNDAY CELEBRATION OF HOLY COMMUNION

Our worship services this week will include the celebration of Holy Communion.

If you are worshipping with South Shore UMC virtually, please set your tables with

bread/crackers and juice/water for all present with you to join in the celebration of

the sacrament.

COMMUNION TABLE PARAMENT

White or gold cloths are used on the Communion Table as a sign of a special feast

day in the church. White and gold are colors of purity and light. In approaching the

Communion Table, we remember that Jesus is the light of the world. At the Communion

Table we physically taste the goodness of his grace, represented in the bread and the cup.

And we leave the Communion Table carrying his light into the world.

IDENTIFYING LEADERS @ SOUTH SHORE

We are hoping to recruit volunteer leadership for a number of service positions across

our congregation as we return to greater ministry presence and activity as a church.

SHORE YOGA TAKING SUMMER VACATION FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

Shore Yoga Gatherings will resume in August.

We look forward to that time of breath and being together!

NEW SOCK AND UNDERWEAR DRIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH RESTORE

Our friends at Restore asked us to partner with them in purchasing new socks and underwear

drive for school age children in the greater Riverview Community to be distributed in time for

the beginning of the new school year in August.

We encourage the following sizes:

Girls Bottoms – sizes 4 through 16 | Boys Bottoms – sizes 4 through 20

Girls Socks – sizes 5 through 11 | Boys Socks – sizes 4 through 10

Please place new packages of socks and underwear ‘under the trees’ in the Worship Center.

South Shore is grateful to share generously with our friends at Restore through this sock and

underwear drive, in addition to our monthly food donation, during the months of July and August!

CONNECTING WITH PASTOR SARAH DURING JULY

Pastor Sarah will be taking time away on Thursdays during the month of July.

She will be available Sunday mornings during worship and Mondays through

Wednesdays in the Church Office.

She will enjoy vacation and Sabbath time Thursdays through Saturdays. Thank you!
