This Week @ South Shore UMC

COMMUNION TABLE PARAMENT

White or gold cloths are used on the Communion Table as a sign of a special feast day in the church. White and gold are colors of purity and light. In approaching the Communion Table, we remember that Jesus is the light of the world. At the Communion Table we physically taste the goodness of his grace, represented in the bread and the cup. And we leave the Communion Table carrying his light into the world.

SPRC MEETING – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 @ 6:30PM via ZOOM

‘CAFÉ FAITH’ STUDY CONCLUDES THIS WED. SEPTEMBER 9 @ 12PM

Café Faith is a lunchtime study and fellowship opportunity. We will gather via ZOOM link.

Join us as we enjoy our meal, enjoy our fellowship, and enjoy time spent in the Word with God.

This week’s text is Matthew 25:14-30.

Email Pastor Sarah – sarah@southshoreumc.com – to receive the Zoom Link information.

During this gathering we will also discuss what we would like to study next together.

Hope you will join us for this lunch and learn opportunity!

SEEKING SERVANTS FOR SOUTH SHORE’S WORSHIP SERVICE PRODUCTION TEAM

We are seeking to equip servants and establish a rotational schedule to produce our two Sunday Morning and special worship services, including running slides, sound engineering, and broadcasting. Training is provided. Please connect with Pastor Sarah to join the team via sarah@southshoreumc.com.

OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAM NOMINATIONS CONTINUE

Each Fall United Methodist Congregations across the Florida Conference prepare, complete, and present operational leadership team nominations for the coming year of life and ministry in the church.

Please continue to be in prayer for the Spirit to stir in the hearts and minds of leaders in this church that will offer their gifts and guidance in the service of God at South Shore in 2021. Pastor Sarah celebrates the addition of one team member to Finance, Trustees, and SPRC; she hopes a second new team member will join each of these leadership areas as well. If you feel God leading you to answer this call to serve on one of these teams in 2021, please contact Pastor Sarah – sarah@southshoreumc.com.

SWEETEST GRATITUDE FOR OUR SEPTEMBER REPLENISH RESTORE FOOD DRIVE

Thank you for your generous donations to SSUMC’s September Food Drive this week.

Our neighbors and fellow servants at Restore – a ministry of Riverview First UMC – are so grateful. With your help, they were able to respond to assistance requests from persons experiencing food insecurities in our community. SSUMC’s UMW also thanks the South Shore Family for your generous donations of face masks and reading glasses. What a witness of being the Church this week, friends! Thank you!
