Bishop Whitaker has been in
contact with Bishop Palmer in the Iowa
Conference to offer our prayers and
support. The Florida Conference has also
sent $10,000 to the Iowa Conference to
assist with relief efforts.
The
flooding is already being called the worst
event since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf
Coast. Once flood waters have receded and
local emergency management has assessed the
situation, there will certainly be need for
volunteer teams and financial assistance.
