NINTH SUNDAY WORSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP – NEXT SUNDAY, MARCH 3 @ 9AM
Join South Shore for our first Ninth Sunday Service and Fellowship of 2024!
We will worship at the 9 o’clock hour and share a time of fellowship to follow.
Our Fellowship Theme… is BEANS!!
Our third annual SHORE BEAN BOWL will occur during our March 9th Sunday Fellowship. Beans are one of the most common ingredients donated to local food pantries, and so to celebrate the incredible food security work at Restore, we will share a fellowship meal featuring beans and raise funds so they can continue their work.
Entries into the Best Bean Dish Contest must feature beans in the recipe.
The winner will be announced before the conclusion of the fellowship hour.
Want to attend the 9th Sunday Fellowship and not prepare a dish with beans?
You are invited, too! And bring a dish to share!
For more information, connect with Aubrey Golding via email@example.com and/or sign up
to serve in the Welcome Center today!
LITURGICAL COLOR: PURPLE and BURLAP
The cross and pulpit paraments are now purple signifying we are in the Season of Lent in the church year. The altar parament is made of burlap, which reminds us of sackcloth, the traditional fabric worn by persons seeking and applying themselves to the work of repentance and renewal. Lent is a 40-day season that reminds of Jesus’ forty days in the wilderness where he was tempted and made his first statements of faith.
The color purple is a color of royalty. Our King came to die; from his weakness on the cross we receive our greatest strength in the gift of resurrection.
