LET’S GET REAL WITH REELS – THIS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 

Viewing Movies With A Purpose 

Showings @ 1:30pm and 6:00pm 

 

Each month SSUMC’s Anti-Racism Task Force hosts viewings of movies with a purpose that will prompt and engage us in conversation about the trans-generational legacy and on-going reality of racism in our world. Gather in the Welcome Center and then we will move to our viewing room. Popcorn provided!

UWiF FALL RUMMAGE SALE THIS WEEK

(weather permitting) 

Receiving donations: Thursday, September 29 from 9am to 7pm and Friday September 30 from 9am till 12pm 

 

Sale: Friday, September 30 from 10am to 7pm and Saturday, October 1 from 8am to 1pm 

 

Your support of the UWiF Rummage Sale through donations and shopping equips them to financially support their missions in our community throughout the year. Thank you! 

 

SSUMC BIKETOBERFEST THIS SATURDAY

(weather permitting)  

To continue our efforts to be externally-focused in our neighborhood and community, South Shore UMC is excited to host our first annual Biketoberfest on October 1 from 4:00-6:30pm.  We welcome tricycle riders to motorcycle riders and everything in between.  

Join us for food vendors, fellowship, a children’s bike parade, helmet fittings, bike safety information, a bike costume contest (category is Wicked Wheels!) and more! Preparations are underway and we could use YOUR help to make this event successful. Please contact Pastor Sarah or Scotty Schrier for more information or to sign up to serve!

SHORE KIDS ‘SPOOKY GRAM’ DONATIONS

Mr. Scotty and Pastor Sarah would love to present each child that attends our Biketoberfest event with a Spooky Gram! Please place donations in the Biketoberfest bin in the Welcome Center. Thank you! 

 

SING IN SSUMC’S CHRISTMAS CANTATA CHORALE 

Our combined Chancel Choir and Worship Team Chorale will lead us in worship with a Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 18 at both services, and we welcome new voices to join in offering this gift to our congregation and community. Please bring donations and place them in the shopping cart in the welcome center.  Your donations support our partnership with Restore Food Pantry at Riverview First UMC and bring relief to hunger experienced by the most vulnerable in our community.  

 

SOUTH SHORE UMC 2022 CHARGE CONFERENCE 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9 @ 1PM – UNITED METHODIST CHURCH of SUN CITY CENTER 

PRESIDING ELDER: REV. BETH BOSTROM 

During our annual Charge Conference, we will vote on SSUMC 2023 Lay Leadership, receive a membership report, and approve pastoral compensation. 

There will also be a brief time for questions and answers.  

This meeting is open to the whole church; membership is required for items requiring a vote. Lay Leadership and Staff are strongly encouraged to attend.
