THIS WEEK @ SOUTH SHORE UMC
BELFAST TRIP PRESENTATION
SUNDAY EVENING, MAY 22
Join Pastor Sarah in the Worship Center at 5:30pm for a presentation on her learnings from Belfast including videos, a slideshow, and narration. This will be a time for conversation, lament, and hope as we use the ongoing legacy of Northern Ireland as a lens for our context in South Shore.
SPECIAL REQUESTS FOR JUNE
REPLENISH RESTORE
In honor of Father’s Day in June, our friends at Restore asked if we would include basic toiletry items in our monthly donations: men’s and women’s deodorant, body soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Restore Volunteers shared that these personal items often go unpurchased by persons that receive assistance from Restore because of their cost. It would be an incredible gift for SSUMC to stock Restore’s shelves with these items during the early Summer months. Please consider adding these items to your June donations.
JOIN ‘CAFÉ FAITH’ THIS WEDNESDAY via ZOOM
Café Faith is a Wednesday lunchtime study and fellowship opportunity. Join us as we enjoy our meal, enjoy our fellowship, and enjoy time spent in the Word with God, pairing a time of Bible Study with South Shore’s churchwide study of Externally Focused Church – Chapters 3 & 4. Email Pastor Sarah – sarah@southshoreumc.com – to receive the Zoom Link information.
LET’S GET REAL WITH REELS
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1
Viewing Movies With A Purpose
Showings @ 1:30pm and 6:00pm
Over the summer, SSUMC’s Anti-Racism Task Force will host viewings of movies with a purpose that will prompt and engage us in conversation about the trans-generational legacy and on-going reality of racism in our world. Daytime and evening showings will be available. Gather in the Welcome Center and then we will move to our viewing room. Popcorn provided!
