THIS WEEK @ SOUTH SHORE UMC

IN-PERSON WORSHIP BEGINNING NEXT SUNDAY, AUGUST 30

We invite you to worship with us in-person beginning August 30

8:30 a.m. Traditional Worship and 11 a.m. Contemporary Worship

All worshippers must wear a mask and maintain social distance between family groups.

Our worship broadcasts will also continue on South Shore UMC’s YouTube Channel.

We are grateful for your presence – in-person and virtual! – in worship with us at South Shore UMC!

SEEKING SERVANTS FOR SOUTH SHORE’S WORSHIP SERVICE PRODUCTION TEAM

We are seeking to equip servants and establish a rotational schedule to produce our two Sunday Morning and special worship services, including running slides, sound engineering, and broadcasting. Training is provided. Please connect with Pastor Sarah to join the team via sarah@southshoreumc.com.

OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAM NOMINATIONS

Each Fall United Methodist Congregations across the Florida Conference prepare, complete, and present operational leadership team nominations for the coming year of life and ministry in the church. Even in the midst of this on-going pandemic season, Pastor Sarah celebrates the strength and commitment of South Shore’s Lay Leadership.

As our church looks to the coming ministry year, Pastor Sarah hears God calling us to add two servants to each of our operational leadership teams of Finance, Staff Parish Relations, and Trustees, which are required teams that serve as the backbone of the church’s leadership structure.

On August 13 a church-wide email was sent that included descriptions of the work for members on each of these operational leadership teams. If you did not receive this email, and would like to read it, please send a message to toni@southshoreumc.com.

Please be in prayer for the Spirit to stir in the hearts and minds of leaders in this church that will offer their gifts and guidance in the service of God at South Shore in 2021. If you feel God leading you to answer this call to serve on one of these teams in 2021, please contact Pastor Sarah – sarah@southshoreumc.com.

SAVE THE DATE: SEPTEMBER REPLENISH RESTORE FOOD DRIVE ~ SEPTEMBER 2, 2020

SSUMC’s Replenish Restore Food Drive for September will be

Wednesday, September 2 from 10am to 1pm.

Please drive by and drop off your non-perishable food donations in support of our ministry partnership with Restore, a ministry of Riverview First UMC.

SSUMC’s UMW is also collecting face masks and reading glasses during this drive; we request that you package and deliver these items in a separate bag from food donations.

Our August Drive was an over-whelming success; we delivered three carloads of donations to Restore! We hope our September drive will be an even greater blessing to those most vulnerable and experiencing food insecurities during this time.

*Donations received in paper bags greatly ease transportation and delivery. Thank you!*

‘CAFÉ FAITH’ CONTINUES THIS WED. AUGUST 26 @ 12PM

Café Faith is a lunchtime study and fellowship opportunity. We will gather via ZOOM link.

Join us as we enjoy our meal, enjoy our fellowship, and enjoy time spent in the Word with God.

This week’s text is Mark 4:1-9.

Email Pastor Sarah – sarah@southshoreumc.com – to receive the Zoom Link information.
