This Week @ South Shore UMC

PRAYER FOR THANKSGIVING DAY

By Rev. Dr. Loretta Bjorn – UMC of Spring Valley in

Spring Valley, NY

How can we thank you enough for all you have given us, Lord? We have so much, more than enough to supply all our needs. Make us mindful of the people, especially the children, whose earthly needs we are called to supply. In deepest gratitude, we offer ourselves back to you, for your service and your will. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

LITURGICAL COLOR: WHITE

The paraments – the cloths on the cross and pulpit – are white in celebration of Christ the King Sunday. On this Sunday we remember that we are under the Lordship of Christ. On this Sunday we celebrate that his Kingdom is unlike what we see in the world and is everything our world needs to become. This is an especially hope-filled and transformative message for our brothers and sisters around the world that are persecuted daily because of their faith.

MANNA BAGS AVAILABLE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24

Visit the Welcome Center to pick up a Manna Bag to share with a person in need in our community.
