Why is it that we clamor for our movies to be more realistic. We want heroes and villains to have "texture", we want our movies to be in 3D, we now have seats that rumble in the theatre, and we wonder at the lifelikeness of special effects in our entertainment. Yet, and here's the kicker, while searching for reality in theatre we are escaping from the reality we live. While looking for texture in hollywood stories, we flatten our lives.
Have you ever noticed, we don't watch people watch TV in the movies, yet we have fantasies of living like the heroes we are watching? I want to live a life worth watching, don't you?
We have just finished a series on what church is. But there remains the question of how "I" live into that call of God. Over the next 5 weeks we are going to look at how we develop a living faith that empowers us to be people fully engaged in the world around us. How do I become the woman or man of God I feel called to be? How does my faith lift off the pages and into the streets? How do I live a Faith that is 3 Dimensional?
Read 2 Corinthians 5 this week, and join us Sunday to continue on a journey of fulfilling faith.
